Jorgeby OzComment: This definitely needs a crop to get rid of all the space above the head. Good choice using a shallow DoF to blur the busy background. Try to find a simpler background to let the subject stand out more. He does seem to be darker than the background. Possibly using a reflector could help him to be lit better. |

2012by davidwComment: I think you did well with this. I like the rim light to separate the background. I think the model is posed well for a headshot. There are a couple of things to critique about this too though. I do think the main light is just a touch too direct. Judging from the shadow on the eyeglass frames, I think a diffuser is needed. Yet you did manage to eliminate any glare which is great. Also the choice of black background kind of conflicts with the bright and cheery model. |
