You can get rid of the halo on the mane by making a second, less processed version and using a Layer Mask in Photoshop to blend the two HDRs.

I wish you had closed in on the guy on the pier; I'm having a tough time determining the subject. Is it the footprints, the guy on the pier, or the sunset?

Lydia, I thought this was an amazing shot and am shocked that it wasn't AT LEAST in the top 10. As you pointed out, no where in the challenge description did it state that the appliance had to be the main subject. Although, I personally feel that it is, otherwise you would have cropped much tighter on the hummingbird and flower.

Hopefully the DNMC votes weren't too discouraging; I hope to see more shots like this in the future!
