Distorted Body Imageby tpocComment: I think this is a very nice entry. I think it should have done a little better then it did... maybe a 5.6-5.8. I did not vote in this challenge, but probably would have give you a 7. You're right that abstracts are a hard sell here, but I have found they are hard to sell at most of the "challenge" sites. Balancing the light is also a good idea. The first thing my eye is drawn to is the bright spot in the top left. Otherwise, I like it. :-) |

after...by taterbugComment: I had hoped to see this in the top 10. You really made me think and feel on this one. Look forward to seeing what you bring to future challenges. |

A Woman of a Certain Ageby Bear_MusicComment: After breastfeeding four kids, those could be mine. :-) Sorry I didn't get to comment on this during the challenge, but here it goes. I think the biggest distraction here is the fabric bunched beneath her breasts. It makes it look as though she were at Mardi Gras and just decided to flash the camera. The pose is rather bland as well. When I see this shot, I think of the Calendar Girls in England. A different pose, with an appropriate prop and B&W would work. This woman makes me think "classic." I don't know why. |

~~~ Eve~~~by JutildaComment: Sorry I didn't have time to comment during the challenge. This was an excellent idea and I just loved it. I think the softening filter may be what hurt you. Perhaps if the contrast, etc had been upped a bit, but the way it is, it looks like the softness was a mistake or from compression. Message edited by author 2005-08-30 21:47:09. |
Lone Dancer At Windowby BalkoComment: The edges of her body (where the dark meets the light) look choppy. Makes it look like you pasted her into the photo. |
fruit of our laborby SeanachaiComment: Probably just being picky, but given the title of the photo, I would have liked to see the apple sharper.... Maybe even play with the contrast a bit to get her body to seperate more from the background. Good Luck! |
Heliophileby bicrayComment: Might want to play with the brightness, contrast and saturation a bit... Maybe even B&W or selective Desat. Got a bright spot on the left of the photo... looks like motion blur. Nice position and ex[ression, but for the title, I would have liked a warmer tone to imply the sun. |
