Headlightsby ZeissmanComment: Nice technically; perhaps a shorter exposure would have helped avoid the reflection. |

Have a Drinkby karmatComment: I don't feel that black and white adds anything to this subject. This shot, in color, would probably have done quite well in the "red" challenge. |

Battleshipby #1 Bronco FanComment: I like the setup/composition on this shot, but the image is a bit grainy. Some more lighting would have made a difference here. |

Solitareby PaulinaRDComment: At first I thought the background on this shot was too plain, but the more I look at the shot, I realize that it fits in well with the subject -- solitaire. It was something that grew on me, unfortunately I'm sure a lot of voters don't look at the pictures long enough to pick up that kind of subtlety. The plain background gives a feeling of isolation and quiet that fits well with the theme. Also, the arrangement of the cards does a good job of leading the eye across the picture. Nicely done. |

Sin Is Inby ReubenComment: focuses, cosines, cousins.... ;-) -- Nice angle, my only complaint is the shadow in the foreground. |

Pimlicoby BAMartinComment: It's amazing how two shots can be so similar and yet so different. The composition on this shot is absolutely flawless. You do an outstanding job of bringing a large number of elements together and combining them into a scene. Even the rails and fences, which can easily be a distraction if not dealt with properly, manage to lead the eye back into the main subject. This is the kind of detail I often miss. Also, your shot conveys competition much more than mine does. The only thing I might have done differently would have been to step the aperture up just a little bit to tighten the focus and soften the background. The extra light also would have helped separate the horses from each other. Overall, this is a top-quality shot, and one of my three 10's for the week. |
