This looks very like one of the various forms of lichen we see growing on the older gravestones around these parts... or on a quite different scale, how I imagine the landscape of some distant planet that has been peppered by meteors...

This reminds me of the paper eucalyptus tree in my sister's garden in Newcastle NSW, so I'll go with a paper eucalyptus tree as my guess.

I love this. The woman has such an interesting face, and of course the pink is great too. But more than that, I get a wonderful sense of "intersecting planes" from the two directions of movement; plus each of the three people has either an arm or a leg pointing to the lower right, which provides a unifying theme to this street image.
