Light Towerby FrooberComment: This is an interesting light house, and a nice sky, but I think there are more interesting things you could do than just place it on a third. A steeper angle (ie. taken closer to the base of the light house and looking up) would be more dynamic. Otherwise, it is techinically very good. It just lacks a bit of interest. |

Driftwoodby GraciousComment: Wiow! Beautiful! The high contrast black and white brings out all the detail in the wood, giving it a real sense of age and wear. The composition is very strong... it takes my eyes around the wood and then off towards the horizon, making me wonder what is out there in the distance. I love it! 10. |

Spaghettiby JackoComment: I like the patterns you created, but the colours aren't very appealing to me, and the composition seems a bit flat. Technically very good, but not the kind of abstract that excites me. |

Abstract Martiniby AleciaComment: I love it! What can I say? The colours, shapes, lighting... it's all stunning. 10! |

Market Streetby MiekaComment: This is a really interesting scene, but the contrast is a little low and white areas are overexposed. I like how you caught the guy mid-stride, and although the background is a bit busy, I think that works in an evocative way. Perhaps black and white wasn't the best decision when there must be a lot of interesting colour in this scene. |

Neon Twigby kandyjComment: Hmm... you're reaching for something interesting, but I feel as though the contrast here is too high, and the composition could do with some rethinking. Look at the negative space here... it isn't really doing anything to support the shapes of the twig and the icicles. The colours in the ice/water could have been brought up a bit better with some more work. |

Enduranceby KarenBComment: I really like the shallow depth of field here. It reduces the twigs to graceful lines in a pleasant, soft background and throws all the focus on the overlapping leaves. I like the way the light filters through the leaves, showing the vein structure. You show a great eye for detail. The photo really evokes the feeling of changing seasons, winter setting in, etc. (a very northern hemisphere thing that I feel a bit removed from, since it was around 38C here today!). |

First Snowby BAMartinComment: This is a very engaging photo. The way you used the diagonal element of the fence in the overall composition is very effective. It juxtaposes against the slanted angle of the motion-blurred snowflakes really well. It helps me to feel the pressure of the wind against the man and girl's faces. By positioning them far to the left, it draws my eyes to those details, and increases the pressure I perceive from the wind. Very astute compositional decisions :). |

We Wear the Mask that Grins and Liesby Gracechild7Comment: This is beautiful. I didn't vote, but I'm commenting on photos that stand out to me. This one really grabs me, and your attempt at a metaphorical interpretation of the challenge, while not scoring well, is very interesting. |

Young Samuraiby GekkerComment: Very beautiful, colourful and exotic. The dramatic lighting gives a sense of pride and vibrancy to the doll. |
