I like the shot, but you have haloing around the left bush and the building to the right of it. I think it could be processed a little more effectively in other ways, but I love the idea and the moment. 7 for what it is, I think it could have been a 9 with some more play. Also, are all the specks in the sky an overlay, or dirt on the sensor?

I'm wondering if you did sharpening on the whole image? It looks like there's some strange things going on in parts of the background, especially in the lower right? If you're working on sharpening and clarity, you might want to do it on the bird, and not on the background to make it look a bit more natural. You don't need to blur it, just don't sharpen or even just reduce clarity in camera RAW if you're using Adobe. Great capture, a bit uncomfortable in the processing.

It's all so beautiful -- but the colors are just so garish (IMO, sorry) that it really hurts this. Selective desat is really hard to do effectively, but even if the colors were toned down a bit, it would have worked so much better. The rest is really lovely, and it just ruins it for me. :(

I actually like the composition -- though there is a lot of green on the right third that gets a little much. But the color cast of the photo is very off-putting. I like the emotions, but the dog is so green-hued. :(
