Four times I came back to this image as I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Now I know - the full face is slightly out of focus on one side (our right - her left) - leaves the image unbalanced which is a negative.

From a technique standpoint, it's terrific. From an artistic standpoint it is terrific. From an impression standpoint - I don't like it. I know, strange, but that's the truth of the matter. But you gotta dance with the one that brung 'ya so if the technique and artistic framework are well done, it's gotta have a high mark right?

What is it about this half face thing? It has no artistic application, doesn't do the subject any favors - it ruined what would have been a great image with a great face to portray.

This is one of those rare cases where the similar color tones actually work to the image's favor. It's all about the eyes. A terrific image - love it.

This image has a lot of impact as there is obviously something going on here that is both poignant and powerful. I can't explain the emotive aspect this has - it is clearly one hell of an image even with the lame title. I hope others recognize this for what it is and what it portrays. I can't say enough good things about it. Wow.

I'm not sure what the photographer was going for here, but I don't think it worked what ever it was. In a portrait something should be obvious or at least give an impression to hang your hat on - there's just nothing here.
