waiting...by halopesComment: This is great. It just typifies waiting in any sort of waiting area.
I love the repeated lines from the lighting to the chairs to the shadows on the floor.

Industry (11)by karmatComment: Nice shot, love the detail in the steam.
This is one of these shots where it looks good here, but I'm convinced would look spectacular in a large print / gallery sort of setting! |

Woeby raishComment: Wonderful expression, I'm not too keen on the processing though, but I see I'm in the minority there :) |

What Once I Wasby karmatComment: This a wonderful photo with lots of feeling.
For me it is more about the mans sadness, as I see the boy behind the man with his head hanging down and the man looking out across the water away from the boy.
There's no interaction between the two, and it feels like the boy is waiting patiently behind him for attention or acknowledgment.
I realise this is a completely different interpretation than others are seeing, but that's the beauty of this sort of image!

36.52 Raceby MelethiaComment: As usual your candids amaze me. This photo instantly evokes memories and feelings of childhood. It has a wonderful sense of realism about it which is maybe why it so easily takes me back all those years.
The boy on the left really sparks my interest. What is he doing, what is he looking at? At first I thought he was just left out of the fun which all of a sudden made the shot look very sad, but on closer inspection he definitely seems to have some sort of role in what's going on, perhaps part of the game they are clearly playing.
Wonderful shot that I keep finding details in the longer I look at it! |

Daybreakby Yo_SpiffComment: Just the kind of thing I was talking about. This is a great shoot which expresses a LOT of feeling.
While I see on the surface a serene look, I feel an energy and anticipation about the scene, the way you do when you get out of bed early for some event (usually to go take a shot), look out your window and are greeted by a blinding sunlight.
I like the way the sun is completely overpowering, yet there is a gentle blue sky, which still say's 'morning'.
I think what you suffered from score wise was people looking at the 'textbook technicals' and not taking time to just take in the photo as a whole. |

We come in Peace!by NikonJebComment: I agree that the photo is harsh, but I think that's a good thing, it's fitting to the style of shot and title. Love the guy bending over as if peering out the window at the strange creatures outside! |

Stars and dust by arminComment: This is a great shot with nice colours. Especially like the stars in which I can see just a touch of movement which I'm guessing is from the long exposure.
I would be very surprised if this didn't finish in the top ten. |
