I might have tried for a tighter crop by leaving out the two elk on the left. Might have gotten more detail on the remaining elk.

I think I would have tried to crop it to put the bird in the lower right corner, or maybe just a tighter crop.

I might have tried a smaller crop with less height. Maybe cut it off on the just on the far side of the stream.

There is a nice sharp line between the deer and the background, but the face seems a little soft, maybe over exposed. I think the DOF was OK because I can make out the Queen Ann's Lace in the near background.

Good detail on the puffed out breast. The beak and eye seem a little soft. I like the variety of greens in the background.

I think you should have moved around and gotten a front quarter shot. You would have been working with the sun and also had more facial exposure.
