I gave this an 8. In retrospect I was a bit stingy.

What a double. Well done on the Blue. The figure is most effective.

This is a new comment series for me, so please bear with me while I find my style!

This is one of my 9s - I like it a lot. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:

1. One of those images that has the power to stop you. This will be a difficult comment for me to write because its the intangibles that have stopped me here.

2. I really like the dingy coloration and the slight grain.

3. The composition is rule-breakingly bold - I really like that.

4. The medicus-shaped structure towards the middle of the image is most compelling - especially as I can't work out what it is.

5. The figure is interesting and difficult to gender-categorise, they seem a little sad - but resigned too.

Overall, this is a surprising find. All the better for it.

1. There's such tension in this image, it's almost palpable - like someones about to get arrested for treason!

2. The nearest person is close enough to invade our personal space - probably the secret to the discomfort you have communicated.

3. The figure over the street - he can't be trusted!

4. The VW cruising by - a little too nonchalantly. Who else is watching?

5. The texture of the street - communicating a sense of dry heat.

All of the above lead to a sense of story and rising feelings of paranoia. Excellent.

This is one of my 9s - I like it a lot. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:

1. There are so many 'aha' moments in this image, exploring it with my eye is like going on an expedition!

2. The bright parts of the surface offer us a visual mimic of a breaking ice sheet - fragments moving distally from the larger masses.

3. The floorboards bright and textured, trying to lead us inward.

4. The subtle tree left, with its brick-edged bed.

5. The Mini parked over the way and the row buildings behind.

6. An then there's you, almost as an incidental self-portrait with an angle that seems to confound the expectations of a simple reflection.

Overall, a complex and rewarding image.
