I took this shot of jellyfish at Monterey Bay Aquarium, CA. It was very low light, I bump my ISO and kept aperture widest open to capture this.

I will update aperture, ISO and shutter speed settings in the evening.

Electric! Literally :) Very sharp and who would have thought you would be able to get such a beautiful shot in a public aquarium.

That looks so soft and huggable, although I think hugging would be a bad idea. I love how the bottom luminesces and the slightly off-white against the deep blue.

PAW - Beautiful shot. They have similar jellyfish and lighting at the Birch Aquarium in San Diego, but it's hard to get a picture with the limited light. What ISO and shutter speed did you use? You got really good detail.

So beautiful. All those details and the light. Reading your story you must have done some (very nice) postprocessing.

What an incredible picture. I'm just wondering how you got the lighting. Was there a light at the bottom of the underwater floor shining up on it? They don't produce a light like that themselves do they?

I do wish there was no other jellyfish parts in it. Oh well.

I've never been to the aquarium since I've had my DSLR, now I'm thinking it might be a little easier to get a nice shot, bring a tripod and no silly flash going off.

Ohmygoodness! This is magnificent! You don't know how many times I have tried to get a beautiful jellyfish photo. They are so eerily beautiful. But I've never quite been able to pull it off. The artistry in this is amazing. Congratulations! Think I need to add this one to my favorites :)

Hi Ann, I took this shot at Monterey Bay Aquarium. I should create a habit to put the deatils on the photo. I will try to do it for PAW 2009.

Nice~! I wish the extra bits and pieces weren't at the top there, though.
