the reflection of my hand in ghost lake. calculations to b/w. resize. usm.

The light was cloudy so I used shutter priority to be sure it was fast enough. I was probably kidding myself using ISO 200. 400 would have been more appropriate. As it was, this shot came in underexposed even at the widest aperture. But for this b/w treatment it works perfectly. I will admit it limits my options, though.

I might get some dnmcs or huhs but experienced photographers might know that this is a reflection. (I wouldn't)

Mysterious - leaves me wondering about the story behind the image. I have to admit I didn't see it as a reflection, but as with many of your shots, it has depth that far exceeds this specific challenge.

You peaked pretty early in the 2008 season - you realize, of course, there is only one direction to go from here. Congratulations on the well deserved blue. Now you know how us mortals feel when we get a Posthumous ribbon.

I really like how you infuse poetry into your images. This shot is sublime, lilting, poetry.

Pretty darn cool. I quite like this and thought it might be yours. And you got an Ed comment and marttila's #1, which means it's quite the success.

Congratulations! You have the #1 most under rated photo of the challenge. That deserves a special award don't you think? I would give 2nd most under rated to Ode to Harold and 3rd to Kitchen, but hey, that's just my humble opinion.

Thanks for such a thought provoking entry.

I like the unpretentiousness here, and the less obvious use of reflections - I prefer that to simply shooting reflections 'cos the challenge tells you to. It's like this picture only means something to you, and is the more valuable for it.

Touching photo (pun intended). If I made a wild guess I would say this is a window reflecting some outdoor features and the hand is inside the window. This is an excellent creative interpretation of the challenge to make texture with the reflection rather than making it the subject. I hope this does well but I fear some may not take the time to think about it.
