=====================================
Well, some people thought she wasn't in a crowd, and some people had a problem with the insinuation of the title, and some people thought the artwork was distracting.
My intention was to focus on the woman, who was alone in two ways: obviously walking alone, and dressed entirely differently than all the others at this art festival. I felt I showed enough other people to give the feeling of a crowded street.
I chose the title to let the viewer's mind go wherever it wanted: there are many things for sale in this photo. I thought the vendor leering at the woman would lead some people's minds to consider that she might be for sale.
I was probably asking too much of the voters by presenting them with a photo that has multiple layers and interpretations. They seem to prefer the obvious. |

I voted this a 5, Julianne. Here's why. First, I thought this looked like a pretty empty scene, actually not a crowded one. Second, her dead-center location kept drawing my attention away from all the interesting details in the rest of the frame. So the composition bothered me. Aside from the challenge theme, I think the contrast between her and others would've been stronger without the multiple themes: either the right side to contrast her and the guy or the left to contrast her and the other people. Finally, you've been here long enough to know how true it is that voters, on average, prefer the obvious. |

This really looks like a voyeur to me. :) One thing I really enjoy about this shot, is the painting behind the man. It feels they are almost sneering at him. However, I am not sure your intention was the vendor or the girl. I am guessin the girl, but the title seems to indicate otherwise. Fun take nonetheless. |

it seems the title insinuates she's a prostitute, I could be wrong. but she does seem alone in a crowd, and is being leered at by the guy in sandals. |

Nice B&W. The wall and pictures??? on the left of your photograph is distracting. |

A little vague as to who/what is alone for me. Is it the person on the chair behind the tree? |

At first I didn't like the title. But then when you scan the photo and see the fellow who appears to be looking at the blonde it makes sense. |

Unclear subject. Who's suppose to be alone here? |
