Bought a gold fish just for this shot. It was probably one of th e toughest shot I ever had to do!

To have the fish and cat looking at each other was sooooooooo difficult! The cat didn't care much about the fish.... :-(

I finally got this one shot!

PS stuff...

Cleaned out lots of the glass and just left a nice clean contour. Made everything nice and white. Cloned part of the fish's stomach as it was overex.Dodged both eyes. Burned some of the cat's fur. Added USM, difuse glow and gaussian blur at 20% on the cat only.

Voilà! :-)

a nice piece of work, but not a photo.

What a wonderful shot! Should be a poster. I know how hard it is to get animals to cooperate. Takes a great deal of patience and a trigger quick finger. It's a wonderful capture. I love it!

Hi I really like your image, Humourous, great colour and good focus
Congratulations on your blue ribbon.
Although I don't think I would let that fish loose
My cat and most cats would eat the fish I think.
I am glad he is in the bag.

I would think they are opposites
Nice one though!

overexposure done right. not only do the cat and fish go together, but the fish and water, and so does black and white. great choice of colours and focus, if this is not the winner, i don't know what is.

good idea but way over-exposed, or manipulated too much; the glass is lost against the background and there is not much detail in the cat's fur

The cat may think they go together; I'm not sure the fish woujld agree. Nice rendition of the fish; I'd like to see more detail in the cat, though I have a black cat and I know how hard it is to get detail.

Too cute! Fabulous light, color, and composition if this was taken as one shot. The capture of the cat and the fish is just perfect. One of my top picks. I hope this wins and pisses off all the cat haters! (But I do hope this isn't a composite of two separate photos-I would be disappointed in that).

The overlighting makes it look almost like the fish is swimming in air (I'm sure you intended this). Very interesting shot and a unique pairing. (shouldn't the fish be in the cat's stomach?) Nice shot.
