Jimmy, this is so amazing! This was definitely one of my top 2!

Even with all that texture and character -- those piercing sparkly eyes shine thru. Fantastic photo!!!

Man - I get so sick of people using themselves as models in these challenges. Dont you know anybody else to take pictures of? The only people worse than the likes of you are those that take so many pictures of their kids. Its sickening I tell ya! Oh yeah - and bumping up one.

I love the tonal range, and expression in this image. THe eyes look a little strange (but kinda cool) maybe a little over sharpened. Top left side of forhead looks to smooth doesn't match the rest of his forehead. Great shot. Keep at it!

truly a great shot! you really did the eyes well and got the details in the face out. the title isn't annoyingly pretentious either, which helps. my only gripe is the crop... not sure what I would change but seems a bit off. 9

Very subtle color added. And while i do think it fits this person, it's not the challenge. vote:4

I like it ... maybe just a TAD overboard on the sharpness for my taste. 8

I actually had a moment when I first saw this where i paused as though I was actually being stared down. Good PPing and lighting. I wish the eyes were slightly higher in the frame, is all.

If you don't win a ribbon with this, I will be sadly disappointed. I have voted on a good strong number of them so far and there are none that are even in the same league as this one! Easy 10!

Cool head shot. the only problem i have with it is that the eyes are over processed

People will say I rave about this cause you're my friend, but it is one of the singular images in this challenge that is compelling, well done, well focused, and evokes any sort of emotion for the viewer. BRAVO!

Could have been a nice picture, too bad it's oversharpened and ill-cropped.

You did a great job with this. I looked at this several times and finally put it in my Top 10. The eyes are great and it's extremely clean and sharp. Hope that others don't get distracted and end up not seeing how good this is. 10.

great detail...crop is quite tight...it either should have been cropped more, or less, it looks like it's just in the middle and so slightly annoying...as far and a b and w study and contrast etc, it's superb 8
