sure. it was a dark room with just one soft box on. it was off to her side and slightly in front of her. I don't exactly know how to explain that. say if your looking at a clock(as the photogrpaher) she was at 12:00 and the softbox was standing at 8:00 o clock bout 5 feet away from her, facing torwards her of course. some of the drama was added in post processing. but the light set up was very basic. I tend to like using just one softbox for many of my shots.

Hope that helps.

Wow, great shot! Your really know how to use your kids as models. I like the fact that you don't "just" take shots of them - your photos always have so much depth that go far beyond the "oh, isn't she/he cute?" - level. This shot is well forethought, all parts fit quite well!

It wasn't ill-conceived. It is in fact a lovely portrait - great lighting, and you've done whatever it is you do to the eyes to make them beyond clear - they shine. And tell your daughter she's a perfectly wonderful model - very expressive, very beautiful!

Very cute... I love how this compels you to think about everything leading up to this moment - you must have had fun!

Nice tones & model with an excellent bit of humor here - the look on her face is priceless. A very good capture...

Great image, great concept. That milky white cast on her face gives her that porcelain quality. Great model and the eyes are superior. I really like this shot.

Great and cleaver idea. I like the use of the frame. The whites are a bit too white for me, but overall, a tremendoud portrait. Good luck in the challenge. 9

I would have liked it better without the wings. I just think wings have been overdone in general. I do have to say that at least your wings don't have that really fake wal-mart look. I think the face is a little over retouched but I know that dspers tend to like that. Anyhow, I love the make up the frame and the facial expression. Overall good job, I am very critical when it comes to kids since I photograph them for a living. I hope you do well. 8

This could use background light, even if it's just a blank wall. You want the light to be middle grayish right behind her and fade if toward the edges.

Very cute. I think this really could have done without the frame. She's got the little outfit and the makeup and is just adorable. The frame has been done a lot, which is firn but I really don't feel in enhances this photograph.
