It's been so long since I went to intentionally make a connection with a storytelling face! But a Face challenge was just the thing to inspire me.

Leigh. Her name means “weary; delicate”. She was kind and gracious, but yes, definitely weary of life. She was totally okay with my taking her photo and she smiled and chuckled humbly when I showed her this picture. There were two other very friendly homeless people standing near her, so I offered to take them all to a convenience market across the urban street and buy them whatever they wanted to eat and drink. When it was time to go, we hugged and blessed each other.

It's thundering and so cold and windy tonight. I can't get them out of my mind and heart. But it was a good day. I know all 3 of them were blessed to "be seen" and given dignity.

Love this is color, but I wonder if you'd have gotten the BLUE if you'd done it in BW. I see there are very few entries near the top that are in color.

Just thinking, friend... :D

I hadn’t completely read the story at the time of congratulating you on your ribbon, but that’s beautiful. I’m sure they really treasured the moments that you spent with them and all you gave.

btw .. i hadnt read your comment when i made mine ..
makes this so much more meaningful .. the story behind the photo .. and the cold .. and your concern about their welfare ..
life can be very hard .. they are lucky that .. just for a while .. you must have brought some happiness into their lives .. :)

I am an ex smoker and cigarettes are my enemy, However this picture says a lot, Here stone face shows all the trials and tribulations she has been through and that cigarette show how she has managed. Nice capture

Wow, I’m sure she has many stories to tell, especially of hardship. This one will be hard to beat, my top pick.

Life etched into her face, seems to me she would have a few stories to tell. Love the distant stare off to nowhere?everywhere? lost in her own thoughts. one of my top picks.
