Filtering using my super-sophisticated methods. The sap has reduced enough at this point to pour through a filter and catch as much of the crud, aka nitre, in the filter as possible. You can see by the colour of the syrup below that it is very clear and still quite weak in colour. It isn't finished yet but ready to put on for the boil.
