    Biography: Nature photography is my passion.
    I have always had a love and respect for nature and the sciences. I spent much of my youth hiking and nature-watching in the wilds of British Columbia. I took up digital photography a couple of years ago, and try to get out in the field as much as possible.
    I consider myself to be an opportunistic nature photographer, in that I enjoy landscape, scenic, wildlife and bird photography. While I value post-processing software and it's capabilities, I use it as little as possible, relying more on filters and in-camera processing and techniques. Some of my favorite images are straight out of the camera, with no post-processing whatsoever.

    I am a big Lee Filter fan, and I love being able to accentuate the natural aspects of an image within the camera. You will notice that I also use long-exposures quite often for my scenic work. Long exposures can provide a unique sense of motion to an otherwise static image.

    My philosophy on selling my images: photography is not "work" for me. The joy and satisfaction for me is in the adventure itself, and the thrill of capturing a unique moment in time. For this reason, I do not profit from selling any of my images. Any and all proceeds from sales will be donated to a variety of conservation organizations (eg, The Nature Conservancy.) This is my way of giving back to the planet that provided me with all my fantastic photographic opportunities.

    I also sell some stock images through Getty Images. Any proceeds I get from these sales will also be donated to conservation.
