Biography: I'm a La Crosse, Wisconsin native who has just recently moved back to the Midwest after being active duty in the United States Marine Corps since 2003. My love for design and photography is in my blood. I have numerous family members who have taken different paths in the design field like my Grandpa having a 30 year career in CAD and the pinnacle of his career being involved with the creation and implementation of the HVAC systems for the World Trade Center Towers in New York, or my Aunt becoming a fine artist creating stunning paintings and drawings of landscapes, animals and portraits. I knew from a young age that I wanted to design or be involved with art in some way, shape or form.

I received most of my formal training from the Marine Corps while being a Combat Photographer. I graduated from the Defense Information School (DINFOS) at Fort Meade, Maryland in 2003. From there I honed my skills quickly as I deployed to Iraq in 2003 in Support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where I've had multiple images published in magazines, books and websites. My early proud moment came after we had secured an airstrip in Tikrit, Iraq and I went out attached with and LAV unit to document them and I suddenly found myself in my first firefight. One of the images I shot from that skirmish was published on USMC.mil a few days later and I knew I was on my way to becoming part of history and much more importantly, documenting and preserving it.

Throughout my time in the Marine Corps, I would constantly be cross training on video, graphic design and reproduction sections, doing side jobs on the weekend, whether it be re-designing a logo, brochure or shooting a wedding or event for our church. I made it a point to continually be involved with design somehow but time constraints sometimes curbed that.

Which brings me to my time after the Marine Corps. I exited in July of 2011 and knew it was time to continue my education now that I had the time to do it. I also continue my business, Milestone Photography, in where we are always looking forward to meeting new people, photographing new places and cherishing life's experiences.
Some other interests in my life are

    Bass Fishing
    Softball
    Hunting
    Working Out
    Wood Working
    Watching Football

And of course, always spending time with my awesome and talented children who always have constructive criticism in all my work. I hope you've enjoyed reading a little about me and enjoy viewing my artwork and photography as much as I do creating it.
