 Thank you for he comments. Regarding the title. . . "Daddy home." was what she said a few years back when she didn't want me to go to work.

Processing: Lightroom 4 for cropping, levels, and curves, etc. Nik Silver 2 for BW conversion (began with a preset based on thhe Ilford HP5 film preset) and toning.

I would love to know how this shot is doing. I think it is AMAZING. This is one of those shots that could go either way here on DPC because it isn't your typical portrait. I hope it is really kicking butt for you. I would love to see it ribbon.

I find it interesting in many respects.
You have put together to kind of processing that belongs to two different eras, really. The sharpness of the eye and still the extremely soft PP, reminiscent of other times.
I find the image enigmatic, in a sense. Are the flowers the gentle back of dad's hand, to grab and squeeze tight against the cheek? (My kid does that a lot, it comforts him).
I have been looking at this since a while now.
So, well, a revisitable 9.
