In answer to mike_311's comment - this was not a work of art, but a light fitting with a perspex surround. The colours on the left are reflections on the perspex. The white area was a window, the black was a wall.

Well I knew this was high risk when I entered it. Perhaps it would have done better in the challenge it was intended for - it would almost certainly have done better than this:


But I'm still happy I entered it because I got a lot of positive comments and a nice score for the votes from those who commented.
