No serious intentions of entering anything this year or shooting for any challenges. But I did take this one the other day and had some fun editing it up. Since I still have my blue shirt I can still enter Free Studies - so in it goes.
Just want to say thank you to the DPC community as a whole for everything that you offered to me and my family. I certainly wouldn't have the pics I have or the knowledge to take them without this place.

I like the picture in this. Funny thing is that it makes me think of the transience of time, and your kid's only a kid!
What's he reading?
He was reading a math book called "The Life of Fred". He really got into it. And the spread between now and the image above is right around 3 and a half years. I go back through my portfolio every so often and it's cool to see the growth of my kiddos captured throughout the challenges. Unsettling at times but cool none the less.
I'm going through the entries, stopping at those images I feel have had the benefit of an unconventional eye and dwelling a little longer to try to see and appreciate what you saw. This is one of those images.
Positives: Fabulous light, beautifully captured. Excellent clarity of image and purity of moment. Evidence that sometimes less is more. I really enjoy this cinematic palette too. I like the height you've given your image - plenty of (literal) headroom.
The picture on the wall looks as though it could be the reader in a more active time, nice contrast to the quiet scene. Perhaps a little more detail in the picture would be nice to cement the difference. Nice job.
