Took this early in the month during a morning ride around Madison with Cody and Nala. Even as more shots from the month looked nice, I kept landing on this one as my favorite, so here it is in the free study.
This particular location I have been to many times in the past, but never in the winter. I just decided to stop on in and walk down the slippery steps to see what it would look like with an ice covering. The various formations actually looked even cooler than they do in the summer.

Note, my July 2011 Free Study was from this same location, just up on the hill instead of down by the water:

This is a neat shot, the colors and details are very pleasing. Perhaps a bit of a levels shift to brighten up the brighters a tad more and to add a little more contrast,
A ver beautiful image. The colors are very warm in this picture, even though you can tell it's not too terribly warm. The business on the right of the image, mixed with the simplicity on the left are a perfect balance. The few leaves here and there across some of the trees add a hint of life...
The image is thought provoking and beautifully taken/processed.
