This is what I wanted to put in Pets and Their People, but I thought it would get a DQ on the grounds of the vignette being a new feature. Without it there is background stuff which I didn't want.
I took the series of photos about 2 hours before rollover (which is 4 P.M here) and then had to drive home (20 minutes) feed my granddaughter a late lunch and then process, so I didn't have the time to fiddle around much, or even to explore the possibilities contained in all the shots.
I know last minute shooting isn't ideal, but I didn't have access to Alana before that time.

Challenge entry.

So sweet!! What a wonderful moment to capture. I'd hesitate about entering a shot where I'd obliterated the background with a vignette, too. But it works really, really well for the image.

This is beautiful! So touching. The bonds people have with horses is amazing.

I'm going to give an alternate view and say that I think the vignette is intrusive upon a charming portrait.

Perfect. Everything about it is perfect. The vignetting does add to the feel of the photo.

Girls and their horses. Look at how such a little girl handles such a big beast. She has him by the reigns and looks in control! And the horse appears to be gently submitting to the tugs. Nice tone for the sepia and a good choice in processing. The heavy vignette will work to save on matting costs for the framed print! This totally should have been the choice to enter.

This is wonderful and the vignette works very well. I particularly love the way Ollie's head is down as if to nuzzle Alana.

Has a lovely feel to it, your granddaughter will be over the moon with these somewhere down the line.
