Nice use of the Juniper (I think) to frame the Butte. The B&W makes it look old. Nice contrast and texture in the wood, and rock of the butte.

Interesting framing caused by the trees. The b&w helps us focus through the branches to the main subject rather than be distracted by them, good choice.

I like how the front Joshua trees lend themselves to giving an idea of overall size and distance of the Butte. At the same time they are slightly distracting to me.

Fantastic natural framing. The b&w conversion is perfect as is the deep dof. Ansell Adams would have been proud if he took this shot.

I'm not head over heels for a monochrome and maybe this would have been better in colour but it's really a matter of personal taste.
