We were out on a mountain trail with the ATVs and unexpectedly met a herd of cattle coming down the trail the opposite direction. Everyone stopped and stared for a few minutes. They seemed to be as surprised as we were. The kids backed up and lined up single file. The cows and calves did the same (sort of). We killed the engines and everyone gingerly sidled past.

The little cattle dogs and the cowboy herding the bovines astride his horse all nodded as they passed.

For the record, a regular sized cow looks enormous when you are sitting on an ATV. While the path looks nice and flat, off the path is mountainside - no room really to pull off and give them full access.

Probably a bit of both. I was on an ATV behind them and was more than a bit nervous about the outcome (so there may have been some camera shake). This image was taken in I just realized I used a copy my son had "tinkered" with for this edit. Hmmm. This was taken with my 30d back in 2007. I'll try to find the original and compare. We have a Polaris too and just love it. It has hauled our ancient selves up many a mountain trail.... I really like your idea of mounting a camera on the handle bars :)

Interesting ride there. My daughter and I had opportunity to herd a calf on our bicycles once. It had gotten out of it's field and was wandering down the road.
