Dang, that's a good shot of that tree. It's way far off from your vantage point and your hand-held shot was sharp and spot on.

It could be on the moors of a distant land, but no, it's in the heart of San Francisco.

Composition is spot on here, you're nailed the curve of the tree's balance with the slope of the hill and the walkers are in sweet spot. I might suggest trying this out in black and white, perhaps with a blue filter to get the white tree's silhouette to stand out even more. Perhaps also a low pass with a noise filter, the sky looks slightly noisy. All round though great image.

What a spooky tree, would've made a great frame for the people walking the dog. I think much of the top of the frame is wasted space, though.
