Greetings from the Critique Club!

First impression: I really liked this shot and gave it a 6 during voting.

Technical: Great studio and gradient lighting and that is a huge huge plus on this site. Check out regular ribbon winners like gyaban and KarenNfld, to name only two. Comp is a little too safe in that it is very centred and straight-on, probably for impact, but a little more could have been done.

Artistic: You're pushing the envelope with this entry, of which I am a huge fan. The resigned, 'I'm banged up and don't know what to do' look is great. If you had given yourself some extra damage, say some fake blood or a black eye too (with makeup!) I think you would have scored a bit higher. And strictly fwiw, I think that if the bandage had been wrapped a little closer to your head it would look a little less cartoony and more serious, as though you HAD sustained injury.

Overall: I think you have the potential to really rock this site, just keep the lighting good and go wacko with the artistic side!

Feel free to PM me,

Susan

If that's for real, I sympathize... haha.

Interesting take, amusing and the absent gaze add something. A bit less definition on the face and the gauze would have perhaps enhanced the old photo feel.
