Went to Cape Town to visit some famly during Christmas and managed a quick shoot on a trip to the beach with my 1 year old daughter.
It was already after 9am in the morning so the light was getting harsh and not as soft as I wanted so decided to do some long exposure shots. Used a 9 stop Hoya ND Filter together with a CPL filter to cut the glare off the water and rocks.

Editing included:
Open RAW, increase contrast a bit, opened in PS CS3, remove sensor dust, make B&W adjustment layer, duplicate B&W layer and change blending mode to overlay to increase contrast some more, curves adjustment layer, blurring of sky and water, resize and sharpen, slight glow added and vignette too. these ultra long exposures are very much in vogue at the moment, this is definitely one of the better examples, I like the variation of shades and the mono processing, well done and good luck with it

Such a tranquil picture! But for me the straight horizon is distracting. I would have prefered no horizon line, i.e the "fog" moving into the black and the black extending to the edge of the picture. I would like to know if this is a "real" landscape somewhere and you played with exposure, or if you set this up and/or photoshopped it?

I don't know what I'm looking at, no clues from the title. Would guess this is from a plane, at an island/hill in the ocean/fog. Ethereal lighting
