Challenge: Things That Go Together II (Expert Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-60D
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS
Location: Arlington Heights, IL
Date: Dec 22, 2011
Aperture: 5.0
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/25
Galleries: Wedding
Date Uploaded: Dec 22, 2011

Captured in a dark room with 2 light sources. One external flash hand held in the upper left and one on body flash with thin paper in front to diffuse the light.

The dolls were made by my grandma and were actually the cake toppers at my wedding last year. The room and clothes were made by my grandma's sisters. The doll clothes are replicas of our wedding attire. The pictures on the right wall are me and my wife.

I was kind of going for more of an institutional/societal norm message in the image.

I apologise, I am new to this and you are "stuck" with my comments. Pls. realise that this is *my* learning curve more than yours!
I think the interpretation of the theme is good. I like that you used dolls rather than real people and still could get the "husband&wife" theme across. My eyes are drawn a lot to the background though. Especially the little boys pictures on the wall. the blue in those pics is very strong and draws my eye. Perhaps a brighter attire of the H&W or a shallower DOF would have emphasised the main charaters more. I do like the way you used the lighting.

I like the family snaps on the walls.

This one is amusing; I love the little figurines, their wee outfits and the miniature furniture. I find the vignette a bit distracting though, my eye wants to go to the darkened bottom corners.

Lol. I was going to do a hubbie & wife shot.... man and woman the way it's meant to be.

I like the humour. It would have been even funnier (and more work of course) to have doll photos in the picture frames as well.
