So, I was getting some practice with panning shots while I was out looking for challenge material in downtown Tampa. It eventually got too dark for all of that car watching business, and I decided to walk back to my car.

Suddenly, I noticed this random bulb and cable hanging from a tree on the sidewalk. Behind it on the other side of the road was a streetlamp. I thought, "Hey...light in bulb...not a bad idea." So, I had to get out in the road to get it just right, but I finally got the look I achieved. I hope you like it too!

Image was made with a Canon 7D and 50mm f/1.8 II.

Post Processing accomplished with:
ACR - small adjustments to clarity, contrast, black levels.
Nik Viveza 2 - Structure and contrast adjustments to bulb and cord
Nik DFine 2 - Noise removal from the sky area
Nik Sharpener Pro - Sharpening on the bulb
PS5 - Light sharpening for entire image and removal of a distracting filament on the bulb.

Interesting interpretation of the theme.
I love the orangey-yellow and blue combination you used. It works well together. the lightbulb and the cord are very clever with the bright light source behind (?) the bulb really pulling your title together and optically standing out and drawing my eye.
I don't understand the big light reflection in the bottom half of the picture though. IMO it detracts from the bulb and light at the top. I feel the whole bottom could have been cropped out. In the present pic you could have also edited the little yellow "smudge" out at the bottom of the Photo just making the image tidier.

Thanks for your insights kasaba. That reflection is actually a street lamp...I suppose I got attached to that idea as opposed to the "no one else will see it like that, you dummy" idea, so unfortunately I think many agreed with you. Seeing it now, the entire bottom doesn't belong, like you said. A nice, simple, blue and orange complement would've been nice. Oh well!
