"The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy"

***********************

Thanks for the great comments and PH Blue.

A piece of welders glass was taped to the front of lens to give a 30 sec. exposure. I wore a black shirt and slowly moved my upper body while holding my arm (stuck through a gourd skeleton) as still as possible. Laying on a greenhouse floor in a puddle of water. The cross was just serendipity.

Oh drat. Didn't vote nor look because I've never been able to make it through a Tim Burton anything. But I just spotted this through the side window, when I didn't know the context, and it's just super-duper. I'd not knowingly pay to see the first few minutes of another Tim Burton movie, but I'd certainly have paid good money to watch you take this picture, prone and wet body slowly writhing around a stilled arm. That's entertainment!

mostly what Abra said, but marked with a cross. and a dead blue hand reaching across the bliss.

I am not sure what this is, but I know it is a travesty that it finished this far down. Awesome shot.

This is my favourite image of the challenge. First of all, thank you for introducing me to a poem I had never heard before and was quite moving. Your image really captures for me the essence of the poem. But without even knowing the inspiration for your entry I find the image fascinating and beautiful.

Brilliant image. I'm not that knowledgeable about Burton, but this image stands on its own. Mesmerizing colors.

Good shot and photography. I don't know how this was done and could never even try to copy it.

Creative and effective. I like the grain, adds a sense of mystery to the image.
