 No sense in traveling more than 10 feet from the end of my driveway for a shot :). In coming up with ideas for this, manhole covers entered in pretty early, and then I remembered that there is one just outside of my house. So one evening I went out in the (luckily not busy) street and grabbed a few shots. I imagine my neighbors think I'm even more strange now :).

I'm wondering how many people will vote me down for the un-macroness of this. It's true that I'm close to the subject, but this is likely 4:1, so not even close to 1:1.

For processing this, I really wanted to give it an industrial feel, hence the low saturation and heavy blacks

Post Processing:
* White Balance
* Increase Black Point
* Increase contrast and definition
* Decrease saturation and nearly eliminate vibrancy
* S-curve
* Levels (brought each channel's black point up 0.02)
* Vignette

Good use of DOF. I like the way you captured the oxidation. Rust does have a lot of color!
