wow what a lucky catch. too bad it's such a horrible horrible scene. personally i dont think the red border adds. i'd have tried a white one.

You have done a nice job with this picture, but I find myself distracted by the border, which it realy doesn't need.

I of course understand why you submitted this picture to DPC: this is a scene one (hopefully) does not see very often. And the way you captured with the bright flame, the black cloud in front of the dark blue sky is great. This would have been something for the photojournalism challenge.
And the title you choosed was the best you could do for this submission.
However, this great title (not used by anyone else) calls for a long row of cars and the backlight. That would have been great.

This is being at the right place at the right time. A once in a lifetime shot. Good photo. I would have cropped a good bit of the black sky off and "tried" to focus it on the level of the street. Hope this was a long zoom lens you used or you got mighty hot taking it. If long zoom, just not zoomed so closely. Even gotten more to each side, especially to the right. . Congratulations of being there at that time. Hope this does well for you. I'll give it a 7, especially for the event. PTL

Oh. My. GOD! How terrible! I hope no one was injured! How absolutely awful. What a nasty commute you have.

Yikes. Hope they are okay.......and you too of course. Wow, never a dull moment on the commute. Great shooting.
