...somebody needs to get the brown.

I really tried to take a "pretty shot" of water, but realized that skill, composition, equipment and processing had conspired against me.

This was a result of ramping down the exposure to take a shot into the sun at a "natural" river near my house.

the title means "heart of darkness," a Google translation of the Conrad novelette, involving a river, thats the connection. It sounded a bit classier, more dark and even sensual in French.

Very happy and thankful to receive all the comments and the recognition from P and B.

Paul, a wonderful capture. I love the abstract feeling to this one. Such great textures. So after your drive to Fairfield you ended up with a shot of water nearer home! But thanks for making the trip. Bear and I enjoyed meeting you.

Very nice, looks like some sort of stone, and not a "Brown" stone! This would make a great overlay texture for something!

You are too funny. Yes, it just sounded better(deeper and darker) in French.

It struck me how much this great shot looks like the texture on some of Rodin's basreliefs.

You see, covet something, and it is not to be. This is very powerful. Thanks.

Well you didn't get the brown but you got 2 worthy awards for this wonderfully oily leaden slithered crust.

Looks like a rock more than water. Abstract indeed. I kinda like it even though I think the voters won't like it so much.

Dark, murky, fearsome. This image reminds me so much of nightmares I used to have as a kid. Powerful.
