Self portrait over the river Bagmati.

As a Hindu believe if you are cremated in a bank of holy river you will rest in peace forever and river Bagmati is one of the holy river of NEPAL.

This was taken at the bank of Bagmati river at Karmaiya, Sarlahi, Nepal.

This is a metaphoric shot and there is saying that ''you are born with nothing and you will turn to nothing''.

I'm guessing by the location given in the title, that this may be an entry from Gaurav. I'm afraid I'm going to have to give this one a fairly low vote, sorry. There's not a lot of interest in this shot, and photographing one's own shadow is fairly cliche, imo. I've done it myself, of course and never thought much of those shots. The rocks in the shallow water do have some nice texture, but the whole thing comes off a bit flat looking to me. I think some of the right adjustments could bring that out and give it a little more visual oomph. I would love to see some of the rest of the great scenery that I know you have in Nepal.

I have a feeling that this will bomb... Not entirely sure how to fix it though. I think that this type of shot never has a "wow" factor to it which is unfortunate because they are almost as good as a self portrait!

If the shadow's the focus I'd like to see it take up more of the shot. Not sure if walking out a little farther would have resulted in a mix of brown and blue water for the shadow or not...
