 Shot this on a road trip I took to the top of the Chesapeake Bay. It's closest I have ever been to one of these awesome creatures. This was taken with my worst lens at 200mm. The Blue Heron is my all time favorite bird, and this guy was very patient with me. He even let me use my flash before flying away; of course he let out a loud squawk before leaving, letting me know I pushed it to far!

I got close to one of these beauties in Vancouver this past weekend. I haven't processed my pic yet but I am crossing my fingers it's half as nice as this.

I like the pose, good catch. Photo could be a bit sharper, especially on the bird's face.
