 This is "Corduroy" - a stuffed bear Riley's teacher sent home with him along with a bag of stuff. Riley is supposed to have some adventures with him, take some photos and/or draw some pics and then write about it in Corduroy's journal and then return him to school the next day. Everyone in the class takes turns.

What a nifty idea! I bet Corduroy gets to play LOTS of video games. And go for many car rides. Poor fellow might just like a book read to him now and again!
