This photo means a lot more to me than it will to anyone else so I expect this to be one of my lowest scoring entries.
This shot was taken in Manila, Philippines the day after a typhoon passed near by. The scaffolding looking structures are actually large advertising billboards. The advertising material is rolled up (you can see it on the left hand side) when a typhoon is expected to hit. A couple of years ago during my first visit to this city a typhoon hit and blew over one of these billboards that hit a bus and killed several people leading to the extra precautions now taken. There are thousands of these structures around the city and with dozens of typhoons hitting a year it is quite a task. This is also the least amount of traffic I have seen here (my fourth trip) due to the combination of the previous storm and that it was a Sunday.
I have more interesting shots of the city, its people and flavour of its culture but this one just really appeals to me. This was taken from the front seat of a taxi (travelling quite fast) through one of the few sections of windscreen that didn’t have stickers on it.
