 I took the door off the bathroom cabinet and posed. I'm aiming to create something grotesque.

Processed from raw using Photivo
texture contrast
convert to B&W using only blue channel in colour mixer
after gamma curve adjustment

Then using Gimp
cropped
re-sized
sharpened

Stands out in the crowd. Guess this is a reflection. Guess you over sharpened a bit to get the reflected side sharper. With that said, I think the sharpening works in showing the details of the face. Also the lighting works in showing the shape of the face. Hope this does well for you.
