You captured it! (did you add the lights? I think so) Good for you. I totally messed it up.
Too bad IMO that you cropped the lights of the towers by a drastic border. A pity.

My guess is those beams of light were added in post processing. If you used a mask for this, I might have progressively blurred the mask as you got higher; light has a tendency to disperse as it travels. If you still have the psd, try it and see! If I'm wrong, I need to brush, my breath smells like foot. :) |

the scene I'd say is mostly real but the September 11 tribute lights seem fake to me, they're too perfect, there's no light bleeding from them no extra brightness that I'd expect to see. Nice image either way, the longish exposure (I'd guess) to get the soft water looks nice. |

I don't know this area so I guess it is possible they set up the tribute lights for the rememberance. |
