This is taken with my Olympus b300 zoom lens. I caught this bird taking a rest at the top of the tree. Only adjustments done were to bring the blue out a little more.

Perfect composition...I'm quite impressed :) Did you blue this up a bit..seems a little too blue for me on the bird. I originally thought this was an egret-like bird..but it's a duck, isn't it? How funny! Okay...on third look...i see an egret-like bird again...what is this??!! LOL

The blue in this is a little bit overbearing, and the strong border kind of pushes it over the top. I love the bird. It was well captured, on that lovely branch against the sky. Desaturating it a bit or converting to black and white would have been more comfortable for me, I think.

A Cormorant? Wonderful silhouette and beautifully colored sky. Very appealing composition too. I don't see a thing I'd change. Nice job!
I'm back to say this is my highest rated of the challenge. 9

The bird could have been a little brighter, but a lot of folks say I'm not that bright either...

Great composition but I would like it a lot lighter, to see the colors of the bird, and his beauty contrasted against the cold sky. Still would give it a 6. PTL

Lovely shot, cormorant I think. It's a tad dark, but really cool. 8 Swash

Wow! Amazing photo. The black & blue image is very dramatic. You got the bird in a perfect pose for the silouette. -10

Definatly blue! I like how you have the bird in the shot. I think that that really makes the photo for me. The angle and framig/cropping is great. I like how you have the bird off to the side and not dead center. The color of the sky is great, and not washed out at all. Definately not touched by man. Good luck in the challenge.

LOL ... i was sitting here staring at your photo, trying to figure out that faint line that's running through it ... and finally noticed it's a line on my monitor, not your photo. your score just went up a point! ;)
anyway. challenge met. i like how there's just a little bit of detail still visible in the bird, where it's placed, and how it is surrounded by the mainly bare branches with just a few leaves left. the twisted neck on the bird is a bonus because it makes the sillhouette even more interesting. the frame works well, too, but is a little too wide for my personal taste. i really like this shot though. :)

Looks very blue. Subject looks just slightly out of focus.

Nice shot. Perhaps a little too bright, though
