Photographer’s Notes
To be perfectly frank, when I saw the challenge theme, it felt pretty lame to me. Why go out of our way to create flaws in the photo. It might as well have been a “blown sky” challenge. But as I got into it, I learned a lot and I’m feeling a bit more sanguine about it.

One thing I learned is that something partially obscuring a bright light source will have its shape preserved in the lens flair. In this case, the mountains partially obscure the sun, and note the silhouette of the mountains (upside down) is preserved in the flare. THAT is COOL.

I'm not happy about the posterization around the sun, but at the tiny 800 pixel limit, really smooth gradients seem nigh on to impossible.
