Location: Roodepoort Hill behind my house, South Africa

Manual blend composite of 5 images: 2 for land and 3 for sky.
Decided to try and include a sun burst and lens flare artifacts so the DNMC police would have a hard time DNMC'ing this shot.

GO TEAM VILLAGE BURNERS

[Sep. 5th, 2011 03:21:22 AM]

6.7 after 13 votes

Very happy with the finish - thanks for the nice comments and votes.
Started at just over 7, dropped down to 6.1 after about 60 votes and a very nice climb back up from there!

Yes those are protea bushes / trees. Lots of them on the hill behind my house. We had a veld (field / bush) fire about a month ago so all the dry grass was burnt and these lovely green shoots are starting to come out now.

Hey there meneer. Im glad the 5d has found some good hands. At least it's not collecting dust in a studio and doing portraits all day. Remember - it's used to a lot of fresh air so take it for a walk regularly as agreed.
Good finish and just falling short of HM.

Snap. Only more accentuated than mine. Love the backlit grass. Are those Protea bushes?
