I always wanted to try out a high key portrait. Working as a diving instructor I thought, take your girlfriend, put her a mask on and switch your lamps to full power mode ;-)

I know, that this shot is far away from perfection. But the overexposed and bright feeling is deliberated. Personally I like such high key shots very much and I always wanted to try this technique. Now I think as most of you, that this one is a little too bright and you are right when you think, that there is much space for improvement. Most I dislike, that the original is out of focus. I used a shutterspeed of 1/200, but I should have used a tripod too. So I was forced to sharpen too much in photoshop. The negative effects you can see in her hair. Thanx a lot for your comments, any further help and tips for getting better high key shots are welcome!

Unappealing lighting and it seems over sharpened. The occupation is not clear to me... looks like another portrait to me? *shrug* (5)

I'm not sure I agree with the high-key aspect (not seeing the original), but having chosen it, it's very well-done.

Very nicely done - in both composition and your use of "no" color. I love it.

I would have liked lots more contrast, maybe a darker background. Sharp focus.

I really like the brightness of this shot. And the expression. Very good.

This totally looses it for me. Are you trying to make a photo look like a sketch? Or are you trying to take a photo of a sketch? Either way the whole thing is blown out. Totally washed out. And it appears to have been a beautiful photo at one time. Just my opinion. PTL. Sorry for the 4.

Cool shot, maybe could of used less crop at the top. However........I do like this lots. Well done.

Sure! Nice high key, but needs some more weight in the middle and bottom to balance the top - maybe lipstick (just for effect) or a different RGB conversion. Some sharpening or compression artifacts show in the hair.

Like the composition, the the girl/you lookat the viewer and the use of the overexposure.
For me maybe a little too overexposed. I have the feeling I need to close my eyes.
