 A memorial about the "Mermaid disaster" in 1905 where 11 young people from Akranes died just meters away from shore. They were on their way home and went on a boat that carried maximum six people.

There were five brothers and sisters as well as another three brothers that died there.

In the background there's the pyramid-shaped mountain Keilir on the southern peninsula of Reykjanes.

What a sad story. This looks very beautiful and I like the sense of scale you've provided, but would be interested to see any close ups too.
