 The Witch's Castle is a building with a troubled past. In the 1850s the Balach family lived in the house along with a hired laborer named Mortimer Stump (even his name is creepy). Mortimer eloped with the families fifteen-year-old daughter. The father was not too pleased and ended up killing Mortimer with a shotgun. He was later hung for his crimes and earned the honor of being the first person executed in the state of Oregon.

Legend says that the ghosts of the departed haunt the ruins at night. Any visitors in the night time hours either disappear or are found wandering the trails around the house, as lost in mind as they are in direction.

To me this sounded like the perfect time to visit. So I hiked about a mile of heavily wooded trails alone and did some light painting. To my dismay I did not encounter any ghosts, and I think I have already lost my mind.

For some reason, I see the information plaque as really standing out and taking away the edginess of the photo.

Very cool looking. My only nitpick might be that you cold have cloned out the information pedestal at the bottom left. Not much you could do about the modern railing though. If not for challenge rules, that could be cloned out without too much effort.

Like: The building, the greens, how the building is lighter than the rest.

Nice to see a shot from Portland! I ALMOST went up to Forrest Park and shot this for this challenge myself!
