This was a rush submission at the deadline - hindsight being 20/20, I would have cropped out more from the water, where the reflection fades out at the bottom.

Thanks for all the great suggestions and complimentary comments. Much appreciated! I felt this was better than a 5.x but hey, the scores don't lie. The light IS harsh, and unfortunately I didn't have the luxury of going back for a retake.

This remains my favorite shot in the Free Study. The composition, color and textures are simply wonderful.
Congratulations again. It should have been in the top 3 (IMHO)

I like how this is framed. The gondola, the pretty window and the doorway are very complimentary both composition and colourwise. The harsh sunlight does take away from the image slightly.

This is a beautifully composed scene and great place to be. Processing wise imo this could use a little help. I would have cropped the picture from the bottom - to the edge of the building, river is not doing much in terms of reflection. The door and gondola are in the similar color palette, processing it to make it match even closer would have really taken this shot to another level.

Nice shot. I like the abstract look to it. I think if it was centered with less water and more of the bricks would be nicer.
